BIG Presidents Day sales happening now!
Like other federal holidays, Presidents Day has traditionally been known for sales at places like furniture stores and car dealerships, but times have changed.
According to a recent consumer report by the finance website Go Banking Rates, over the past few years, Presidents Day has become one of the leading holidays for online shopping sales. In 2011, Presidents Day was actually second only to Labor Day for holidays offering the highest average discounts on clothing, shoes and accessories online, according to a survey by the discount shopping website Shop It To Me. Retailers offered online savings at an average of nearly 47%.
“Are Presidents Day sales worthwhile? That depends on what you are buying, and where you are looking for it,” said Go Banking Rates expert contributor, Clay Wyatt, in a press release. “This year the President’s Day sales are trending towards snow gear, apparel, home goods, and items for children and babies — and offer the best rewards to online shoppers.”
The percentage of items on sale may be smaller than on big online shopping days like Cyber Monday, but the items that are on sale today have a much higher discount — about 47% off — according to Shop It To Me data.
If there’s something in particular that you’re looking for, you can check out coupon code websites to find out if there’s a discount for it hiding somewhere in cyberspace. And any time you’re looking to save, sites such as RetailMeNot, Valpak, Shop It To Me and CouponCodes are great resources for finding deals and discounts, both in-store and online.
Here’s a roundup of some of the best deals and discounts being offered Monday:

Find online coupons that actually work!
American shoppers are always looking for new ways to save a buck. Over the past few years, coupon codes have become an increasingly popular way to get discounts. Unfortunately, sometimes the deals turn out to be nothing but false leads. But the good news is that there may now be a way to avoid that disappointment!
HLN Money Expert Clark Howard is all about finding new ways to save, and he says there’s now a way to save money online that actually seems to work.
ZenDeals is a new coupon code aggregator site that tests the codes before releasing them.
The company’s founders say they’ve created the tool because, as online shoppers themselves, they were tired of finding online coupon codes and discovering at checkout that those discounts were expired.
Krazy Coupon Ladies help you trim the budget!
Clark says ZenDeals is trying to patent a technology that validates the coupon codes in real time. He’s used the site himself and believes it could help shoppers save a few bucks.

Online Coupon Discounts Support Internet Shopping Growth
More Australian retailers should be joining the online coupon revolution on the back of soaring online sales figures in the last year, according to the owners of leading Australian-based coupon website, i love coupons.
The release of the National Australia Bank Retail Sales Index this week highlighted the phenomenal rate at which Australians are taking to online shopping with online retail sales growing 27 per cent in the 12 months to November.
According to i love coupons’ Managing Director, Louie Van Essen, the figures pave the way for the evolution of an even more dominant online shopping world.
“While the figures released this week prove that internet shopping is gaining traction, with $12.6 billion spent online in the last year, Australian online retail is really still in its infancy,” Mr Van Essen said.
“Retailers and shoppers are entering a very interesting phase in the online retail market, with major uptake still set to come.
“There are a lot of successful dedicated online stores that are already offering great online deals, like fashion retailer Boohoo, and technology and electronics giants Dell and Kogan, however we are now also seeing a lot of traditional, bricks-and-mortar retailers increasing their online presence and improving their service within this area.
“At the same time, savvy online shoppers are realising the enormous benefits that can be had with coupon shopping.
“For example, shopping with a Boohoo coupon from i love coupons, customers not only get access to the great range of clothing and accessories available on the Boohoo online shop, they also get great savings at the online checkout, just by accessing our unique Boohoo coupon code.
“Getting a The Iconic coupon, Kogan coupon or any of the countless other technology-based coupons we have on our website is just as simple, entitling customers to discount deals on the latest goods – and most importantly, all our coupons are completely free,” he said.
With the level of online sales increasing year-on-year at this rate, i love coupons’ CEO Dominic Gluchowski said they are expecting the number of online coupon discounts to also flourish.
“More retailers are seeing the value in offering even greater discounts to online shoppers, not only through an increase in their customer base, but also by increasing the volume of online sales,” Mr Gluchowski said.
“I love coupons’ sales have increased 30% year-on-year to November, reflecting the trend seen across the board with online retail performance.
“At the end of the day this is great news for consumers, who reap the rewards of unbelievable savings, while shopping at their own convenience; anytime, anywhere.
“Genuine savings are there for the taking – choose from thousands of coupons from top retailers, like a Boohoo coupon, or a Kogan discount code from i love coupons and get the best savings, negotiated by our leading coupon website to bring the most exclusive deals to web shoppers.”
Coupon Bargains Assisting Online Retail Boost
Australian retailers are being encouraged to focus on e-retail opportunities and embrace online coupon offers as a way to further improve on promising online sales from 2012, say founders of the Australian-based coupon directory, i love coupons.
The National Australia Bank Retail Sales Index released this week revealed a remarkable jump in Australian online retail sales, up 27 per cent in the 12 months to November compared to the previous year.
Co-founder and Managing Director of i love coupons, Louie Van Essen, said the figures proved that internet shopping was rapidly gaining popularity at an enviable rate, however there was still a lot more room for considerable growth.
“While we are seeing a positive shift towards e-retail, with Australians spending $12.6 billion in online shopping over the last year, there are still a lot of opportunities ahead for retailers and consumers to make the most of the digital platform,” Mr Van Essen said.
“Compared to conventional shopping, online retail only accounted for 5.7% of Australian retail spending during the year. However the percentage growth in online outstripped that of traditional retail – which makes the future prospects truly exciting for us, our online retail partners and our customers.
“Dedicated online retailers are suitably positioned to offer the greatest discounts for shoppers, like fashion retailer Boohoo, and technology and electronics giants like Kogan, that offer fantastic savings through i love coupons.
“Many traditional, bricks-and-mortar retailers are now also realising the importance of increasing their online presence and improving their service within this area.
“Meanwhile, smart online shoppers are enjoying massive savings from the use of coupon deals available across virtually every shopping category.
“Armed with a discount Boohoo coupon from i love coupons, customers can shop for the latest designer clothing and accessories available on the Boohoo online shop, while getting great savings just by heading to our website and using the unique Boohoo coupon code with their purchase.
“Fashion, health, travel, even the latest computers and electronics – get a Kogan coupon, The Iconic coupon code or any of the other leading technology brands offering free discount coupons through i love coupons to save on technology purchases.
“It is that simple. We offer a completely free service so that online shoppers can have access to quality retailers and great savings,” he said.
With retailers experiencing increasing online sales levels, i love coupons’ co-founder and CEO Dominic Gluchowski said they are expecting the number of online coupon deals to also skyrocket.
“The growing popularity of internet shopping brings with it an unrivalled network of incredible savings for online purchases, unlike anything the conventional shopping world has been able to match,” Mr Gluchowski said.
“More retailers are seeing the value in offering even greater discounts to online shoppers, not only through an increase in their customer base, but also by increasing the volume of online sales.
“To deliver the biggest savings for online shoppers, we are constantly negotiating new and better deals with established online retailers as well as new-comers to the e-retail world.
“i love coupons’ sales have increased 30% year-on-year to November, reflecting the trend seen across the board with online retail performance.
“And at the end of the day this is great news for consumers too, who reap the rewards of unbelievable savings from a larger pool of online retailers, while enjoying the benefits of the simpler online shopping experience.
