CouponQuestions.com Offers Helps, Tips, Advice, and Coupon Codes for …

San Francisco, CA — (SBWIRE) — 05/16/2013 — The internet has made it easier than ever to save money on the things people love. When buying anything online, many people search for coupon codes prior to checking out. Coupon codes can be found for thousands of different websites. Some coupon codes can be used to save 25%, while others provide free shipping or other incentives.

One website aims to be a compendium for all coupon questions and coupon codes on the internet today. That website is CouponQuestions.com, which offers help, tips, and advice on all coupon-related queries.

On the homepage of CouponQuestions.com, visitors will find an explanation of how the site works. Specifically, the site aims to answer questions people have about coupons before providing coupons for specific companies. Sample coupon questions include:

-Which coupons offer the biggest discount?
-What kinds of restrictions are placed on online coupons?
-Is there a limit to the number of coupons a customer can use?
-When do coupons expire?
-Why do some coupons not work when typed into a website?

As a spokesperson for CouponQuestions.com explains, the answer to these questions varies widely according to the site at which visitors are shopping:

“Every company treats online coupon codes differently. Some companies have literally hundreds of different online coupon codes floating around the internet, while others only release a code once per year. Some coupon codes work for a limited time, while others never expire. Our goal is to explain the intricacies of the online coupon code industry in order to help our visitors save the maximum amount of money on any online purchases.”

Currently, the CouponQuestions.com website features coupon code questions and answers from a number of different websites and companies. Those companies include popular retailers like Disney Stores, AC Moore, Famous Footwear, Kirkland’s, Stop and Shop coupons, and more.

The website also hosts coupon codes for a number of different offline businesses, including the Fort Worth Zoo in Texas and Medieval Times coupons for locations throughout the country. Sometimes, these retailers only allow one coupon code to be used, but in other cases, customers can use ‘extreme couponing’ practices in order to save hundreds of dollars on their purchase:

“Over the past few years, extreme couponing has become very popular in America. Today, website visitors aren’t just looking for one coupon code to save 10%. Instead, they’re looking for multiple coupon codes that can be bundled together in order to create phenomenal savings opportunities.”

Beginner’s guide to online couponing

This post comes from Kyle James at partner site U.S. News World Report.

U.S. News World Report on MSN MoneyCouponing has always been a key ingredient when it comes to saving money on purchases.

However, coupon strategies have shifted dramatically in recent years. With the popularity of online shopping, you’re no longer required to spend hours clipping coupons from Sunday newspaper. Online coupons allow you to save without leaving your home computer — and eliminate the time required to clip and redeem traditional coupon offers.

Here are the basics on the various types of online coupons and where to find them:

Image: Hands catching shopping coupons (© Vstock LLC/Tetra images RF/Getty Images)Coupon codes. The first type of online coupon is also the most popular; they’re called “coupon codes” and are offered by 75% of online retailers to encourage spending and brand loyalty. The most popular coupon codes offer free shipping or a flat percentage off your order total (with no minimum purchase required).

You simply type the code into the designated box when checking out at the retailer’s website. The box might also be titled promotional code, discount code or online coupon key and is typically found on the payment or billing page. You never want to enter your credit card information or finalize your purchase until you are sure your coupon code has been accepted. Otherwise, it can be difficult to go back and try get your discount if the code was entered incorrectly or has expired.

Embedded coupon offers. The next type of online coupon is an embedded coupon, which does not have a code attached to it. These are often included in a retailer’s free newsletter, which you have to subscribe to. Simply click on the offer and it takes you to the retailer’s website, where the discount is automatically applied to your purchase.

Remember to verify your discount went through and read the fine print with these offers, since they sometimes exclude certain brands or clearance items.

Site-wide promotions. These promotions are fairly self-explanatory and include things like “Spring Sale: Save up to 55% off your online purchase.” There’s no coupon code required.

The key, though, to banking significant online savings is combining a coupon code with a site-wide promotion. You can save upwards of 80% off your purchase and often get free shipping included.

Where to find online coupons. An Internet search engine, naturally, is a good starting point. Simply type in the store name, plus the word coupons, and you’ll likely discover coupon websites that update regularly and test coupon codes before adding them. Bookmark the good sites and remember to check them before you finalize your online purchase.

If you have a few favorite retailers, sign up for their free newsletter, follow them on Twitter and “like” their page on Facebook, as these outlets are another way to monitor for great coupons.

Mobile apps. Some coupon aggregators have free apps that can get you online coupons, as well as in-store coupons directly on your phone. For an in-store coupon, as the cashier simply scans the barcode on your phone and the savings are applied instantly.

Popular stores offering in-store coupons on smartphone apps include Old Navy, Kohl’s, Macy’s, Home Depot, Lands’ End, Payless Shoes and Toys R Us.

Accessory Genie Offers Coupon for Opinion

  • Email a friend

As we continue to grow, gathering feedback from our customers is vital.

Westlake Village, CA (PRWEB) April 15, 2013

Accessory Genie launches a three-week newsletter campaign to better understand the needs of their consumers. If a customer answers the survey as to what items they are most interested in receiving more information about, he or she will receive a coupon for 20 percent off.

“As we continue to grow, gathering feedback from our customers is vital,” explained Samantha Scarsbrook Accessory Genie Marketplace Manager. “We want them to know they have a voice, we are listening and we will continue to strive to offer them promotions on items that they really need and want.”

The survey begins by asking: “What categories are you most interested in receiving promotions on?” From there, the customer has the option of choosing up to eight categories: speakers, headphones/earbuds, car tech and bags cases, to name a few. Once the survey is complete, the recipient will receive a coupon code for 20 percent off their next purchase, which cannot be combined with any other Accessory Genie coupons or promotional offers. The coupon expires on May 15th 2013, which is also the deadline of the survey.

Accessory Genie began the newsletter in 2008 where it was used to inform customers on products, but with no theme. In order to better meet the needs of the growing customer base, a concerted effort was made in 2012 to re-envision and retool the Accessory Genie newsletter. Since then, the newsletter has included information on the latest products, deals, and promotions. There is a main image, which highlights a product for a discounted rate. In addition, there are “Genie-ous picks”, which are four varied products that are handpicked to cater to consumers with varying needs.

The newsletter is sent to consumers who opt-in from Accessory Genie or one of their partner websites. What started off as an “every-so-often” affair has now become a weekly email. Within the past year, the subscription list has risen by 20 percent.

“Our goal is to eventually personalize the newsletter based on an individual’s shopping history,” said Scarsbrook. “Of course, there will be some surprise and delight, but most of all we want to make their shopping experience personal, relevant and fun.”

The Accessory Genie newsletter is sent out every Monday. To sign up for it, visit http://www.accessorygenie.com/ and scroll to the bottom of the page.

###

Accessory Genie has been proudly serving the digital camera, camcorder, and electronics accessory needs of customers all over the world since 2004. How Karmaloop keeps online coupons legitimate

Streetwear retailer Karmaloop has increased its online sales rapidly in recent years by connecting with its base of young adults and offering apparel that fits their lifestyles from brands like Mighty Healthy and Free People. The retailer, No. 138 in the Internet Retailer Top 500, did $130 million in sales in 2011, up 81% from an estimated $72 million in 2010.

Helping to drive that growth is an army of 140,000 independent reps, or customer evangelists, who spread the word about Karmaloop through means including handing out fliers on street corners, writing about the retailer and its brands on blogs, and distributing coupons.

“They’re our street team,” says Megan Knisely, director of affiliate marketing. “They’re brand evangelists who love our brand and spread the word about it. We think of them as an extension of our work force.”

In 2012, she says, these Karmaloop street reps accounted for 25% of Karmaloop’s overall revenue. The retailer’s 2012 revenue figure wasn’t available, though Karmaloop says its street reps also accounted for about one-quarter of 2011 revenue of $130 million, or more than $30 million.

Karmaloop provides its advocates with a web site at repteam.karmaloop.com, where they can sign up as reps, receive their own rep code, and learn how to distribute their rep code as part of Karmaloop coupons to people they meet on the street or online via their own blogs or other sites where Karmaloop doesn’t already have exposure. Coupon recipients get 20% off purchases on Karmaloop.com; street reps earn points, based on the amount spent by shoppers with those coupons, that they can redeem for cash or Karmaloop products.

With coupon-code monitoring software from BrandVerity, the retailer also closely monitors its street reps’ placement of online coupons, to ensure that they play by the rules. If a rep distributes her rep code through a popular coupon site such as RetailMeNot, where Karmaloop already advertises, for example, the retailer will get an alert on an online dashboard, then inform the rep to remove her code from the site. “We want reps to reach new audiences we haven’t reached yet, and we want to be able to give the credit to the reps who are doing a fantastic job of spreading the word about Karmaloop,” Knisely says.

“We have a three-strike rule,” adds Danii Frazier, affiliate marketing assistant at Karmaloop.” If they use their rep codes outside of the rules three times, we suspend them.”

Karmaloop typically checks the BrandVerity dashboard once a week and may find 30 or 40 reps operating outside of its rules. Most make amends to stay within the program. “Sometimes we get repeat offenders,” Frazier says. “But normally reps are willing to work with us; it’s why they’re here.”

BrandVerity, which launched its coupon-code monitoring software in January, provides it over the Internet as a software-as-a-service for which retailers pay a monthly fee based on usage. The fee starts out at about $250 per month for a retailer monitoring once a day one brand with about 25 codes, according to Sam Engel, marketing manager for BrandVerity. The fee rises with the number of brands, codes and monitoring frequency, he adds.

Monitoring Affiliate Coupon Code Usage

The Search Monitor is now offering Coupon Monitoring in their reports.

The Search MonitorThey are able to detect when affiliate marketers use coupon codes without permission to drive traffic through coupon sites.

With this service, online retailers will be able to monitor usage of coupons meant only for use in campaigns outside of the affiliate marketing channel or for specific authorized affiliates.

Customers using The Search Monitor can enter coupon codes when setting up their campaigns. The coupon codes are then monitored on coupon sites.

If a code is published, it will appear in reporting and an email alert will be sent.

Online Coupons: Pros and Cons

Using coupon codes to entice online consumers is a long-running debate. The pros are: easy to implement, easy to track, and consistent increase in conversion. The cons are: uncontrollable distribution, tendency to drive non-loyal discount shoppers, and reduction of average order value.

Many companies that I’ve worked with avoid coupon codes, saying that the return is not worth the monetary or human resource investment. Lately, however, I’ve seen many effective uses of coupon codes.

Coupons at J.C. Penney

Consider the case of J.C. Penney. Early last year it eliminated many promotions in favor of everyday low pricing and month-long sales and seasonal sales events. The goal was to convey to consumers that they would always get the best available price simply by shopping at J.C. Penney, without waiting for a sale. J.C. Penney dropped non-seasonal sales, promotions, and coupons. Penney’s ran paid search ads, such as the one below, announcing the shift.

It didn’t work. By May 2012, J.C. Penney’s stock price plunged nearly 20 percent after it missed sales targets. For the first three quarters of 2012, sales fell by 23 percent. Since then, J.C. Penney started reissuing coupons.

So even though J.C. Penney committed to “fair and square” pricing, which meant that if consumers did their research, they would see a competitive price without the need for a sale or coupon, why did J.C. Penney’s revenue take such a dive? The answer likely has to do with consumer behavior. Online consumers like to research. They use shopping comparison engines. They weigh whether shipping fees will offset tax savings. They take part in online forums to discuss the merits of price and product. Part of online shopping is the hunt. Consumers want to feel like they’ve “found” a good deal, that the effort they’ve spent in finding that deal resulted in a payoff.

When consumers find a coupon and use it successfully, they believe they’ve gotten a good deal. Never mind they could have purchased that same product at J.C. Penney for the same price without a coupon. If the consumer uses a coupon code he found buried on page 7 of the search results, he’s likely going to tell others.

Coupons Disrupt Purchase Path?

Many merchants fear that coupon codes interfere with the purchase path. This does occur. A consumer goes to a retailer’s website, locates a product she wants to buy, adds the product to the cart, and then exits the transaction process to find a coupon code. This is where affiliate marketing comes into play. The consumer finds a coupon code on an affiliate site, and now the retailer has to discount the product for the consumer and pay commission to the affiliate.

However, there are many ways to manage this scenario with proper attribution. Many affiliate tracking platforms allow for a specific commission rate for coupon sites. For example, ShareASale.com not only allows you to set a lower commission rate for specific affiliates, but it also allows you to see at what point the coupon affiliate entered the shopping stream. As a marketer, if you can see that the consumer visited the coupon site seconds before completing a purchase, likely the consumer visited the coupon site to acquire the coupon code.

Coupons Generate New Customers?

If, however, you see that the consumer visited the coupon site ten minutes before completing a purchase, then perhaps the coupon site truly did drive incremental traffic. By seeing the code on the coupon site, the consumer may have been motivated to visit the retailer’s site, where she browsed for ten minutes before completing the purchase.

Coupon codes aren’t just for coupon sites, however. My company recently analyzed 100 blog posts that generated high traffic for a retail client. Over 50 percent of these posts featured a coupon code. I’ve seen blogs generate upwards of 20 percent of a retailer’s new customers. While blog traffic does take time for a retailer to build, the investment is worth it in terms of new customer acquisition. And, as I saw from our quick study of those 100 posts, offering bloggers a coupon code — with an affiliate link in the code — is a good way to get coverage of your brand.

Summary

So here are the takeaway points. Coupons are not horrible. In fact, they can be beneficial if used as part of an overall marketing strategy. Set expiration dates. Set attribution metrics. Ensure that affiliate commission rates are in line with new and existing customer mixes. And don’t be afraid to test.

PocketCents Local Coupon Advertising: hyper-local coupons

PocketCents Coupon Advertising: Hyper-local coupons

Together, the two companies want to bring a new level for companies using the power of coupons to online advertising.

Rochester, MI (PRWEB) February 05, 2013

Local online advertising network PocketCents, founded in 2007, recently formed a new partnership with digital coupon network Coupon Wallet, founded in 2012, to bring new opportunities for their customers advertising businesses and products both online and off.

Currently, PocketCents has served roughly over 800,000 advertisements to their robust network, accounting for thousands of active members utilizing the powerful impact of local online advertising. Much like Google AdSense, PocketCents uses banner ad boards on websites and offers Pay-Per-Click revenue to their publishers and organic clicks for advertisers.

Coupon Wallet is a newcomer to the digital coupon landscape, but has a different spin from competitors like Coupons.com by focusing more on the manufacturers than the retailers. They also promise a completely digital experience, from customers finding coupons all the way to redemption and processing coupons on the manufacturer’s side.

Together, the two companies want to bring a new level for companies using the power of coupons to online advertising. Customers of PocketCents can use Coupon Wallet’s services, and vice-versa, to have a huge network to advertise their coupons to highly targeted customers. Not only that, but Coupon Wallet will also be bringing their “Coupon Anywhere” technology that allows companies to put a coupon code on literally any means of marketing, supplementing a company’s online endeavors.

Both PocketCents and Coupon Wallet are excited for this venture and expect to have immediate results that will be highly beneficial for their customers.
